DESIGN STUDY 01 · HOSPITALITY

The Dune House

A coastal kind of stay. The brief we gave ourselves: make a vacation rental feel like a deep breath, and make booking feel like the natural next step rather than a sales pitch.

The idea

Most rental websites shout: availability calendars, badges, pop-ups. We went the other way. The Dune House opens on one wide, unhurried photograph and a two-line promise, Stay a little. Feel a lot. Everything after that is paced like a slow morning: short sections, lots of air, and a single, quiet call to action that repeats as you scroll.

The choices that make it feel like this

  • Serif headlines, sans everything else. Instrument Serif gives the big lines a relaxed, editorial voice; DM Sans keeps the practical details crisp.
  • A sea-glass palette. Deep green-blue ink, warm paper and a sandy accent. It reads “coast” without a single nautical cliché.
  • One call to action, said three ways. “Find your escape,” “Imagine your stay,” “Plan a visit.” Same destination, softer language each time.
  • Photography does the selling. Full-bleed on desktop, cropped to the porch and the dunes on mobile so the best part is always on screen.
  • A stay preview, not a booking engine. The planner shows how a real booking link or calendar would slot in without the page feeling like a form.
