Happy Harbor Web DesignLet’s talk

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Glad you
asked.

Straight answers to the things people ask before they get in touch. If yours isn’t here, just ask. We like questions.

Cost & payment

How much will my website cost?+

It depends on the pages, content and features you need. Starter websites run $300–$500, Business $500–$800 and Premium starts at $800. Our tiers show what each includes, and every project gets a fixed quote before work starts, so you always know what’s included.

How does payment work?+

Half to begin, half at launch. For larger projects we can split it into three. There are no hourly surprises: if you ask for something outside the scope mid-project, we’ll tell you what it costs before we do it.

Are there ongoing costs?+

Just two. Your domain name (usually $10–$20 a year, in your name) and hosting. Most owners add Harbor Care at $25 a month, which covers fast, secure hosting on your domain plus your monthly updates and a yearly check-up. It’s month to month, and you can host elsewhere instead if you prefer; the website is yours either way.

Why not just use a website builder?+

Builders are a fine way to get something online quickly. The trade-off is that your site looks like everyone else’s, it’s often slow on phones, and the monthly fee never ends. If a builder is the right call for your situation, we’ll tell you.

Timelines & process

How long does it take?+

Most small business websites launch in three to six weeks. The biggest factor is how quickly content comes together; our process page shows what happens each week.

How much of my time will it take?+

Around four to six hours in total, spread across the project: a conversation at the start, feedback on the design, and a look at the preview before launch.

What if I don’t like the design?+

Then we haven’t understood you yet, and that’s on us. You see a real homepage design early, with room for honest feedback and up to two rounds of changes included.

Can we meet in person?+

If you’re in Baldwin County or nearby, absolutely. Coffee is a perfectly good place to plan a website. Otherwise, phone and video work well.

Content, photos & domains

What if I don’t have photos or website copy?+

We’ll work it out together. Writing help and image guidance are part of every package. Existing brand materials are a great start, and we’ll tell you honestly if a few good photos would make a big difference.

Do I need a domain name already?+

No. If you have one, we’ll use it. If not, we’ll help you choose and register one in your name, so it’s always yours.

What about hosting?+

We build fast, lightweight websites that run happily on modern static hosting. We’ll set it up in an account you own and show you where everything lives.

Can I update the website myself?+

Simple changes, yes, and we’ll show you how at launch. Or let Harbor Care handle it: for $25 a month we host the site and make your updates for you. Email the change over and it gets done.

After launch

Do I own my website?+

Yes. Your domain, your content and your website files belong to you. There’s no lock-in, and we’ll put that in writing.

Will people be able to find me on Google?+

We build the fundamentals into every site: descriptive titles, a page for each main service, local details and structured data. We’ll also set up or tune your Google Business Profile. Rankings take time and depend on competition, so we won’t promise a position, but we will make sure you’re not missing the basics.

What happens if something breaks?+

Every project includes 30 days of post-launch support. After that, a care plan covers updates and fixes, or you can reach out whenever you need a hand.

Is this for me?

Is this for a small business like mine?+

Absolutely. Happy Harbor is focused on small businesses: local services, shops, restaurants, independent professionals and people building something of their own.

Can you improve my existing website?+

Yes. We can look at what you already have, talk through what’s working, and decide whether a thoughtful refresh or a fresh build makes more sense.

Do you only work in Baldwin County?+

Happy Harbor is based in Baldwin County, Alabama, and we love projects we can drive to. We’re happy to work with small businesses beyond our local area, too.

Do you build online stores or booking systems?+

We connect your website to the tools that do those jobs well, like booking platforms, ordering services or a simple store, rather than building fragile versions from scratch. Tell us what you need and we’ll scope it honestly.
